Driven by a passion for exceptional food and the timeless art of charcoal grilling, we sear premium Wagyu steaks to perfection and char vegetables to enhance their natural flavours.

Our menu celebrates native produce and time-honoured techniques, all centred around our commitment to delivering a dining experience that’s simple, authentic, and memorable.

Our Chef

Rafael Ruiz García

Chef Rafael is an expressive and dedicated chef from Córdoba, Spain. Raised on a family farm, his love for food began early, learning from his mother, a lifelong chef, the importance of fresh ingredients and home-style cooking. 

After completing his culinary training in Córdoba, he spent over a decade refining his skills in some of London’s most respected kitchens, including Opso, Nopi, Barrafina, Nobu, and Les Deux Garçons. These experiences helped him master Mediterranean, French, and Asian cuisines.

Now based in his wife’s hometown, Kuala Lumpur, Chef Rafael brings a deep respect for local flavours and a commitment to zero-waste, ingredient-driven cooking to Brasa. With a strong focus on thoughtful sourcing and bold, balanced flavours, he is set to lead Brasa into an exciting new chapter.
